Dear friends,

The stay in Kathmandu is already over with the RECCO training and the visit of Terre des Hommes.

As always beautiful encounters, followed by 4 days of trek in the Langtang valley with the crossing of the region of Timbu which suffered this gigantic landslide last summer during the monsoon.

The arrival of friends, then with much luck we were able to fly from Kathmandu to Lukla.
The cloudy sky makes this flight very difficult and dangerous. Scheduled flight at 7:30, we finally took off at noon, and that was the last flight of the day.
As always you have to be flexible in Nepal!
An intoxication to I don’t know what, nailed me to bed in Namche Bazard 3400m for 36 hours…
It is very feeble that I chained on Phortse, 3900m. I am always amazed at the ability of our bodies to recover.

The goal for the next few days is to go to the base camp of Everest/ Lhotse 5300 m, then go down to Chhuckung to climb the Island Peak 6180m (the equivalent of an acclimatization rotation) before going back to Lhotse base camp!

A whole plan, we are delighted!

friendships from Dingboche at 4400m

Sophie
