Roger Schaeli
Mountaineering and climbing made him a globetrotter. Schäli goes on large expeditions once or twice a year. He is particularly interested in the remote corners of the world: mountains where no one has been before. Routes that are new territory. Unfamiliar terrain, in alpine style, that’s what appeals to him. In general, traveling, being with friends and climbing partners from all over the world is a big part of his passion, which goes far beyond the sporting side: “In the mountains, very special, intimate, intensive relationships develop. With a rope partner you are – to put it exaggerated – like an umbilical cord. ”These friendships are the most valuable thing that life as a mountaineer brings with it.
Roger Schäli would like to remain an all-rounder in the future and live out the versatility of mountaineering. His goal is to transfer the idea of free climbing to the high mountains and walls of this world. Fairness towards colleagues and sustainability are important to him. And above all: never to lose the fun and joy of climbing!
