The Derby de la Meije is a legendary ski event that attracts nearly 700 participants from over 20 countries. It takes place in the famous La Meije valleys and offers an exciting mix of competition, mountain workshops, and festive activities.

Event Highlights:

• Race Format: Starting at 3,550m (Dôme de la Lauze), racers pass through the Col des Ruillans at 3,200m and finish 2,000m lower, with the route being mostly off-piste and freely chosen except for the mandatory points.
• Participants: Open to skiers, snowboarders, telemarkers, monoskiers, or anyone with a sliding device—individually or in teams of 3 (teams must include at least one woman and three different types of equipment).
• Race Distance: 9 km, completed in as little as 7 minutes by the fastest or up to 2 hours at a leisurely pace.
• Festive Atmosphere: Costumes (non-hazardous) are encouraged, adding to the fun.
• Additional Activities: Mountain workshops, a raffle, concerts, and a grand post-race celebration.
