An inspiring journey through Nepal’s high mountain passes was recently completed by Sophie Lavaud and her team. After traversing the serene yet rugged landscape of the Rolwaling Valley, the group continued through the remote paths around Tsho Rolpa Lake, the pristine Trakarding Glacier, and ascended to a high camp before reaching the challenging Tesi Lapcha Pass at 5,750 meters. This leg of the journey was both beautiful and demanding, testing the endurance and spirit of the entire team.
As they descended to the village of Thame, they witnessed the resilience of the local community, who have been recovering from recent floods. Sophie expressed heartfelt gratitude for the dedicated porters who assisted them along the way, including Nima, Lakpa, Geljen, and Pemba, acknowledging their strength and positivity even in the face of hardship.
Now, the team is setting their sights on the Renjo Pass, with the majestic Cholaste base camp on the horizon. Stay tuned for more updates on their epic trek through Nepal’s breathtaking high-altitude landscapes.
