I had a very good impression going uphill, they seemed to me much smoother and lighter than I thought given the waist size. Also in switchbacks they literally fly with the ankle movement and I found myself ready for the next uphil segment in no time.
Snow was decent enough, fairly icy crud but luckily flat and not vented.
Despite the slow speed due to whiteout conditions for most of the time I never had the feeling of plunging down, even at low speed the skis surfed afloat. I don’t know in fresh powder but in the snow I found I had absolutely no need to linger back seated.
What struck me the most was the ease of turn and incredibly tight cornering attitude of these skis, they don’t even seem to be a 20 mt radius pair.
